Dear Neighbors,
Recently, many of you contacted Willow Point Municipal Utility District of Fort Bend and Waller Counties (the “District”) complaining about odors emanating from the District’s wastewater treatment facility (the “Wastewater Treatment Plant”). Thank you for contacting the District and alerting us about the odors. Every homeowner’s concern is taken seriously, and the District is actively working to reduce the odors.
Over the past six months, the District upgraded and expanded the Wastewater Treatment Plant pursuant to the rules and regulations of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to accommodate increased flows. During the upgrade and expansion process, odors became more noticeable, and the District instructed Si Environmental, the Wastewater Treatment Plant operator, to investigate and research solutions to reduce the odors. At its April 2 meeting, the Board of Directors of the District received proposals from companies that specialize in odor reduction and engaged one of those companies to implement its proprietary odor mitigation process.
We will keep you updated as the District pursues solutions to this problem. Thank you for your patience and for being an engaged part of our community.
